A manager at Old National Bank witnessed the killing of her colleagues live in a Microsoft Teams session, as their Louisville office was attacked Monday morning.
said Rebecca Bouchet-Sims CNN: ‘I watched people get killed. I don’t know how to say it.
Another roommate, Troy Hastie, was in the room when Conor Sturgeon, 25, opened fire.
Hest escaped, but was spattered with the blood of his teammates as he left the bank.
It later transpired that Haste and Sturgeon were indeed acquaintances, and were photographed together in September at what appears to be a construction site where old National staff can volunteer.
Five people were killed when bank employee Sturgeon took an AR-15 rifle to his workplace and began blasting his senior colleagues. Nine others were injured, including two police officers – one of whom had only been with the force 10 days.
Sturgeon was shot dead by policemen inside the Old National Bank.

“He just started firing him,” said Troy Haast, an employee of the old National Bank.
‘We have a rest room. I got in there, I closed the door for a second, and then I was looking around as I opened the door to see where he was, and I could see him still shooting,”
Conor Sturgeon, 25, was identified as the Old National Bank shooter on Monday
“He just started shooting,” Hastie said. I did not see his face. We were in the conference room. Everyone who was next to me was shot, and their blood was on me.
He just started shooting. He had a long assault rifle, Haast said, still trembling.
“We have a break room,” Hasti explained.
“I got in there, closed the door for a second, and then I was looking around opening the door to see where he was, and I could see him still shooting.”
The old National Bank employee also said that the whole situation developed on the first floor of the building, where the group was at a meeting.
Another man with Haste said he thought the shooting was constructive.
But someone else told him, “Run, there’s a shooter over there.”
Buchheit-Sims said their meeting had already begun when Sturgeon entered the room.
“I am in shock, disbelief and disbelief as I watched her unravel,” she said, adding that it “happened so quickly.”
Buchheit-Sims didn’t work with Sturgeon, but knew him because his father was her son’s high school basketball coach.
Her husband was an assistant coach.
She described sturgeon as a person with a monotonous personality.
‘His temperament is very humble.’ I have never seen a child get angry or upset about anything in public. “It was very relaxing,” she said.
She said she didn’t know of any threats or issues, but said the sturgeon was “very smart”.
It is revealed that he broadcasted the massacre live, and left a message for his parents stating that he was going to carry out the attack after being kicked out of the bank.

The sturgeon stormed into the Old National Bank shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Monday — about a half hour before the downtown branch opened to the public.
The victims are Thomas Elliott, 63, a close friend of the Kentucky governor, and four other bank employees: Joshua Barrick, 40, Juliana Farmer, 45, James Tutt, 64, and 57-year-old Diana Eckert.
Sturgeon carried out the attack with an AR-15 assault rifle after earlier making a series of ominous posts on Instagram, including one that said, “They will not listen to words or protests.” Let’s see if they hear this.
He was shot and killed by police after wounding nine other victims – including two police officers, one of whom had only been on the job for 10 days.
Rookie police officer Nicholas Wilt, 26, was shot in the head and remains in critical condition. Work started on March 31st.
“The next few days are very important and crucial for Nicholas’ recovery,” said Interim Police Chief Jacqui Gwen Villarroel.
She said he was discharged from brain surgery at the University of Louisville Hospital.
Mayor Craig Greenberg said he handed Willt his police academy graduation diploma less than two weeks ago.
“Our city and many across the country are praying for Officer Wilt’s strength and recovery,” Greenberg wrote on Twitter. “His heroic actions are a perfect example of law enforcement.”
He did not give the name of the injured second officer.
Three victims have since been released from hospital.
During the shooting, he heard on police scanners that the sturgeon was a “suicide” and texted a friend that he was going to “shoot the bank.”

The mass shooting was the 146th in America in 2023 — more than the number of days this year — and it came just weeks after the school shooting in Nashville, a three-hour drive from Louisville.
Later, Joe Biden blamed the Republicans for failing to stem the epidemic of gun violence.
“How many Americans must die before Republicans in Congress act to protect our communities?” Biden said.
It is a long time ago that secure firearm storage was required. Require background checks for all gun sales. Eliminate immunity from liability for arms manufacturers.
“We can and should do these things now.”
Sturgeon grew up middle-class in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, where at 6ft4ins, he was a star basketball player at Floyd Central High School.
His father, Todd, worked as a coach and quit the school in 2022, stating that he wanted to spend more time with his family.
Friends said they “never expected” the sturgeon to be able to carry out such an attack.
Another suggested that a series of concussions he suffered in his school athletic career may have contributed to his thinking.
The 25-year-old attended the University of Alabama before attending the Manderson Graduate School of Business in the same college.
He has been working at Old National Bank as a union assistant and portfolio banker since July of last year, according to his LinkedIn profile.
