Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson recently signed a record $200 million deal to remain at KIIS FM for the next ten years.

But Sandilands, 52, has revealed the radio duo’s former employers, 2DayFM, made a bold move to get them back on the network.

“The old club offered us a lot of money (to come back),” the athlete said during Thursday morning’s Kyle and Jackie O Show.

“We don’t want to go there, but they’re going to give us a lot of money,” the couple revealed what they said to each other during negotiations.

A return to 2DayFM would likely have meant the pair would have taken over the breakfast slot currently held by Hughesy, Ed and Erin’s show.

Sandilands was first confronted by paparazzi about the rumors in July last year when he returned to Sydney from his European honeymoon.

Sandilands hinted that he was open to a possible move if he was presented with an attractive offer and asked Jackie: “What’s my motto?”

“Where there’s a cash register, there’s a way,” he responded.

Kyle confirmed he was right and joked that that was Jackie’s motto too.

However, the radio queen quickly took Kyle down and said she had a different outlook on life.

“I don’t live my life just based on money, there are other things too,” he said.

The couple previously worked for Southern Cross Austereo and had a successful show on 2Day FM.

According to the Australian Financial Review, The duo’s former network, SCA, was “pretty aggressive” in pursuing the pair before they re-signed with ARN.

‘This is like sports rights for radio. “It very likely will end up being the largest talent media deal in history,” a network insider said at the time.

ARN Media CEO and CEO Ciaran Davis told Daily Mail Australia: “We do not view contract negotiations as an on-again, off-again exercise.”

‘Since Kyle and Jackie O have been with us, we have been working very hard to make sure they feel part of a larger network and that everyone contributes to it.

‘I don’t think it’s a surprise to us that they’ve had the biggest audience they’ve ever had. Having worked in many countries in radio, I think they are the best in the world at what they do.’
