Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has flexed his muscles and made a big change to his lineup ahead of tonight’s matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
The Super Bowl champions are 2-0 heading into their Week 3 matchup at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, but they haven’t been at their best so far.
In an attempt to change that, Reid has made the bold decision to try to offer more protection to quarterback Patrick Mahomes, bringing in a new left tackle and a blindside protector.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, second-year offensive lineman Wanya Morris will start the game, in place of second-round rookie Kingsley Suamataia, who is headed to the bench.
Suamataia was selected 63rd overall out of BYU and impressed enough during training camp to earn a starting job in Week 1.

Coach Andy Reid has made the decision to change his left tackles for tonight’s trip to Atlanta.
However, he struggled in Week 2 against the Bengals, allowing Trey Hendrickson to sack Mahomes twice.
He was ultimately pulled from the game and is expected to miss Sunday night’s prime-time game in Atlanta.
Coach Reid did not announce the decision during his press conference on Friday, only telling reporters that both tackles were fit and available to play.
Kingsley Suamataia started in Weeks 1 and 2, but has been benched for Week 3 in Atlanta.
Wanya Morris, who scored a touchdown against the Bengals, is expected to start tonight.
Explaining the reason for removing Suamataia from the game, he revealed that the rookie “needed to take a step back to take a step forward.”
He added: “We haven’t lost faith in him. He was up against a good player and he has to learn from it.”
