Reality TV star MC Thammy, whose real name is Thammy Caroline, suffered first- and second-degree burns after filming herself participating in the reckless viral trend for her two million followers earlier this month with friends in Recife, Brazil.
“We spent 15 minutes with our feet on ice with coarse salt,” he said, recounting the horror of April 6. ‘When I took my foot out, I never felt so much pain in my life. Three of my fingers had turned black when I came out of the ice bucket.’
Thammy was treated at a clinic where she said she was told she was at risk of thrombosis and could have developed necrosis if she had stayed on the ice for another minute.
Unable to put any pressure on her feet, she says she now moves around the house being dragged in a plastic lawn chair by her mother, who pushes her from room to room.
“Wheelchairs are for the weak,” he said defiantly. “We only have chairs.”

The challenge, presented by singer Anderson Neiff, was given to the participants of the N1 Influencers reality show.
Along with Thammy, Teus Neiff and Artur Braz also participated in the challenge that caused them first and second degree burns.
The trio were rushed to the hospital when their toes turned black and they experienced excruciating pain.
After being treated at a clinic, Thammy returned to the reality show but had to go to the hospital due to severe pain in her feet.
She said: ‘My foot started to swell really badly. I left there and went to the hospital, at the hospital the doctor said there was a risk of thrombosis and the other said that if I stayed another minute, my toes could have become necrotic.’
