An iconic Emmerdale and Coronation Street star looked barely recognisable after a major career change.

Jacqueline Pier, 48, has swapped the cobbles for a desk as she embarked on a new career path and revealed she is now writing novels.

The beloved actress, who rose to fame as Tina Dingle when she joined Emmerdale in 1994, took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a photo of herself alongside the cover of her latest book called In The Still.

She subtitled:’#APsychicToldMe to change jobs. I write novels now.’

Jacqueline quickly became a soap favourite and yet a 90s sex symbol after joining Coronation Street in 1998, where she played iconic factory machinist Linda Sykes.

Her epic story included a romance with Mike Baldwin (played by Johnny Briggs) before the star officially left the soap in 2001.

The British star now lives in Victoria, Canada, according to her X account and uses the name Jacqueline Chadwick, hence her social account @jackiechaddy.

After a successful career as an actress, it seems that Jacqueline has left many things behind and has been devoting her time to writing equally successful crime novels.

She is the author of the Ali Dalglish series published by Fahrenheit Press, which includes In The Still, as well as Briefly Maiden and Silent Sisters, and often keeps her fans informed about her writing process.

His novels follow her story. The character is expatriate Ali Dalglish, a former forensic psychologist turned housewife who eventually becomes embroiled in a twisted series of murder cases.

Jacqueline’s character was mentioned again last year in Emmerdale when fans… narrowed down the list of suspects as to who Nicky Milligan’s mother is.

After it was revealed that Nicky (Lewis Cope) is actually Caleb’s (Will Ash) son, viewers were left speculating about the identity of his mother.

Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) and Tina (Jacqueline) have emerged as top suspects, while others have speculated that Kerry Wyatt or Faith Dingle could be her mother.

Nicky had previously lied about his past, claiming that his mother died when he was a teenager and that he helped raise his younger siblings.

However, after it was revealed that Caleb is actually his father and the late Frank Tate is his grandfather, his true family history is now up in the air.

Nicky confirmed that her mother was not really dead when she threatened to tell her that Caleb had slept with Leyla Harding.
