If you’re in the club of people who spend too much money on water bottles (hey, no judgment, I have a $90 water bottle), you probably get irrationally angry when you can’t find it. To prevent this from happening, phone accessory maker Nomad has a new solution: the Hydraulic Flask Tracker. It consists of a small puck with a pocket just for your Apple AirTag, but Nomad is counting on you to provide the rest of what you need to track your water bottle: a Hydro Flask bottle (32 oz or 40 oz), an AirTag and a medium and flexible Hydro Flask Boot.
That’s right: it’s an accessory (the Tracker) in which you can place an accessory (AirTag) so that you can place those accessories (the Tracker and the AirTag) inside the accessory (Flex Boot) of your accessory (Hydro Flask).
Still, the Hydro Flask Tracker isn’t a bad idea—certainly better than simply taping a tracker to your bottle—and it allows you to find your bottle with your iPhone using Apple’s Find My app. (If you’re not sure how it works, check out our Find My guide.) There is a small cottage industry of Etsy sellers. already manufacturing accessories for exactly this purpose, then obviously there is demand. Frankly, I would love to see more companies make super specialized accessories like this.
