A viral sighting of Bigfoot, a mythical sasquatch-like creature, in the woods of Oklahoma sent the internet into a meltdown this week, with viewers calling it the “best proof yet” that the elusive creature exists.
But the truth behind the footage, which has been viewed more than 7 million times, will leave many disappointed.
As it turns out, the footage captured a Bigfoot Head Shop employee dressed in a costume for a promotional stunt for his store.
The sighting, posted on social media, has rocked the internet with many speculating about the validity of the viral video, with some claiming they “fully believe this is real.”
The nearly ten-second clip shows the furry human-like creature leaning against a tree in the Parallel Forest in Lawton, chewing on a leafy branch, before noticing a viewer peering through the tree lines.

The onlooker hurriedly and fearfully fled the scene before posting the ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ encounter on TikTok captioning the video: ‘Scariest moment of my life and I really think I caught fucking Bigfoot on camera in Parallel Forest.’ ‘
“I was sightseeing and enjoying the day and saw something in the distance. I’m still shaking as I write this,” the user added.
The incredible sighting has since been declared a hoax by a paid advertiser seeking to capitalize on the current fascination with the yeti-like icon.
Another video, taken with the same teaser, but this time posted to Facebook, shows a different angle of the big, hairy beast emerging from the trees while singing and dancing to DJ Snake’s ‘Turn Down for What’.

The Lawton, Oklahoma store has since streamed the viral video on its social media platforms, boasting about its appearance on TMZ.
The second clip is titled ‘BIGFOOT FULL VIDEO’ and ends with a graphic of the Bigfoot Head Shop, apparently an advertisement for the Oklahoma-based company.
Blake Younger, 37, the man under the costume, also an employee at the store, declined DailyMail.com’s request for comment.
The viral clip was originally intended as a teaser to “get locals pumped up for the store’s next commercial,” but has since sent the internet on a quest to debunk the seemingly realistic depiction of the made-up creature.
Bigfoot Head Shop co-owner Tasha Keeble-McKee told DailyMail.com she didn’t expect the video to spread like wildfire.
‘The trailer has turned into a massive influx of people reposting our content. “It’s great for the community because it’s fun news, different from all the bad news we see all the time,” Keeble-McKee said.
The store has yet to see a tangible increase in business, but hopes its viral stunt will not only cheer up the community but also its business.
The almost believable stunt appears to be an ad for Oklahoma-based company Bigfoot Head Shop.
Many have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the unlikely sighting.
“It can’t be him, the REAL Bigfoot is blurry, haven’t you seen the photos?” one user commented on TikTok.
Another user said: ‘I saw this over and over again. It seems very real to me.’
“I’m waiting for someone to discredit this cause, I’m convinced,” another user added.
Although the real Bigfoot has yet to be fully captured, the elusive creature born from a combination of indigenous legends, European folklore, and modern American reporting remains a cultural icon and a mystery waiting to be solved.
