The fiancée of an Australian man who died when he crashed his motorbike in Bali has paid a heartbreaking tribute to the “love of my life”.

Thomas Cossins, 30, and Jasmine Sparreboom were in Bali for a friend’s wedding and went for a stroll on Friday morning.

The couple had left Seminyak at around 6.30am to travel to Canggu, where they met up with another cyclist, before heading into the mountains near Gitgit.

According to a friend, Mr Cossins, an experienced motorcyclist, was dressed in full gear and taking a turn on a Kawasaki Ninja when he lost control and crashed into a concrete pillar.

In a Facebook post, Sparreboom said Cossins was “the love of my life, my soulmate, my fiancé, my best friend.”

She said the Queensland man who recently moved in with her in Sydney had shown her “true love, true compassion, strength and loyalty. You shine brighter than anyone else I’ve ever met and I will forever be in your debt.”

‘You have shown me a love I never knew existed and I will truly love you for the rest of my life.’

Distraught Ms Sparreboom added: “I will never forget you and will do everything in my power to honour your brilliance. Fly high with your mum.”

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it is providing consular assistance to Mr Cossins’ family in getting his body back home.

There was support online for Ms Sparreboom’s heartfelt tribute to her fiancé.

“This made me cry. I could see how happy you were with Tom. Life can be so unfair. I’m so sorry,” one person wrote.

“Your kindness knew no bounds and your sense of humor could brighten even the darkest of days,” another friend posted on Instagram about Cossins.

‘You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know you.’

Mr Cossins was riding the sports bike when he lost control while going down a bend, apparently at high speed, local media reported, citing police.

“The victim drove into a ditch on the left side of the road and was crushed under the motorcycle he was riding,” said Buleleng police spokesman Gede Darma Diatmika.

“The victim suffered serious head injuries and was declared dead at Parama Sidhi Singaraja Hospital,” he said.

The latest tragedy follows that of West Australian worker Shane Ramsey, 30, who was visiting the Indonesian island for a wedding and was riding a motorbike in Seminyak when he crashed into a roadside pole on Sunday 18 August.

He was not wearing a helmet and did not have travel insurance.

Mr Ramsey was rushed to hospital where he underwent brain surgery and was in a coma.

His family paid $70,000 for him to undergo emergency neurosurgery and arranged for a medical evacuation flight, believed to have cost around $150,000.

He was flown back to Perth but his heartbroken and loving family later took him off life support when it became clear he would not recover from the horrific head injuries sustained in the crash.
