Groom-to-Be Killed in Tragic Wrong-Way Crash Just One Day Before Wedding

Tragedy struck in Manhattan on Saturday when a wrong-way crash claimed the life of Kirk Walker, a 38-year-old groom-to-be, just one day before his wedding. The New York Post, Mr Walker and his cousin, Rob McLaurin, 40, were celebrating his bachelor party when their car was hit head-on by an oncoming van.

Both men were transported to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where they were tragically pronounced dead. Authorities report that the driver responsible for the crash fled the scene on foot and has not yet been arrested. A passenger in the vehicle was also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Mr. Walker, a devoted father of three, has been looking forward to his special day. Instead, his heartbroken fiancée, Shauntea Weaver, is faced with unimaginable grief on what should have been the happiest day of their lives.

“I’m supposed to be in my wedding dress now, not in mourning. I feel like this is a TV show and I’m going to wake up at any moment and go back to my real life. Every hour since it happened, a different emotion comes over me,” Weaver told the BBC. Daily MailThe couple had planned to tie the knot in a grand ceremony at the Royal Manor wedding venue in Garfield, New Jersey.

“Our ceremony was due to be today at 5pm, in a few hours. He died 24 hours before our wedding. It is devastating, and not just for me. He has three children who loved him immensely. They are heartbroken that their father has passed away. He was a very generous and hard-working man.

He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.” Ms Weaver added: Mr Walker and Ms.Weaver had built a successful car rental business together, a testament to their dedication and hard work. Now, in the wake of this senseless tragedy, Ms. Weaver’s attention has turned to seeking justice for her fiancé.

“I was told the driver left his DNA on the airbags. So they have it. Also, the passenger is in the hospital with broken legs and needs to talk. Two lives were lost in a reckless car accident,” he said. “They have to pay for killing two innocent people.”

Nothing will bring him back, but we seek justice.” The search continues to find the driver responsible for this devastating incident, as the family and loved ones of Kirk Walker seek answers and justice during this heartbreaking time.
