The Greek court of Mytilene dismisses espionage charges against 24 humanitarian workers on Lesbos
The Mytilene court announced Friday that it had dropped espionage charges against 24 humanitarian workers on the Greek island of Lesbos, ending a controversial trial that was condemned by the United Nations and non-governmental organizations.
The court made this decision based on loopholes, including the failure to translate the indictment of the foreign defendants, while a separate trial on charges of smuggling migrants is still ongoing.
