It won’t be long before the next RTX 4000 graphics card will appear: on April 13th it should be ready for 599 US dollars, regular tests are expected one day before, i.e. on April 12th. However, there are already concrete benchmarks in the form of leaks on April 11th.
Many gamers are likely to be waiting for the RTX 4070 not only because it is the cheapest GPU of the new RTX 4000 generation to date, but also because Nvidia’s XX70 series models are always the most popular. Basically, the prices of the current Nvidia graphics cards are often viewed critically.
We take a look at what the first (unofficial) benchmarks reveal about the RTX 4070, especially in a duel with the very popular Geforce RTX 3080 from 2020. The first rumors about the RTX 5090, which is expected at the end of 2024, are in a completely different league. More on that you can find out in the following article:
RTX 5090: If these rumors are true, then Nvidia’s new generation will be a bang

The first readings were taken from Videocardz.com published, they should come from Nvidia itself. According to this, the RTX 4070 with activated DLSS is at the level of the said 3080. If the new – and RTX 4000-exclusive – technology of the frame generation is added, it should be 40 percent faster, but the frame generation has only been used in about 30 games so far supports.
The RTX 3080 came out on top in our latest poll of your graphics cards. Just behind are the extremely fast, but also very expensive RTX 4090 of the current generation and the slower, but also cheaper RTX 3070, which like the RTX 3080 was released in 2020.
According to Nvidia, the goal for the RTX 4070 is to achieve three-digit FPS values in WQHD resolution. In contrast to the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 2070 Super, according to another benchmark graphic, this should also be the case in technically demanding titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 and A Plague Tale Requiem may be possible when DLSS is deployed.

RTX 4070 performance: What do unofficial benchmarks say?
In addition to the data from Nvidia can be found in Chinese Baidu forum additional measurements, which should also show the performance of the upcoming RTX 4070. Compared to the RTX 4070 Ti, it achieves around 80 percent of the performance.
At the same time, these tests also confirm a similar speed as in the case of the RTX 3080, which has 2.0 GB less VRAM in its original version.
A Screenshot Last but not least, the graphics card tool GPU-Z largely confirms the technical data known so far. Accordingly, the RTX 4070 relies on 12.0 GB VRAM with a memory bandwidth of 504 GB/s, 5,888 shader units and boost clock rates of 2,500 MHz.
What do you think of the recent performance leaks for the new RTX 4070? Do they live up to your expectations or would you have thought the map was faster or slower? And how interesting do you find the cheapest Nvidia graphics card for the time being, both in terms of performance and price? Feel free to write it in the comments!
