- The group slept in beds and ate food and cut down a tree before stealing items
- They are still fleeing and thought they were armed with a stolen gun
Debt-sensitive thieves focused on a number of farms in the Sunshine Coast hinterland and stole $ 100,000 in jewelry and tools before leaving bizarre apologies.
Police say that five farms near Eumundi have been the target of opportunistic robbers who slept in beds, ate food and in one case cut down a nasty tree for a neighbor.
The thieves then robbed the homeowners before they left – but in two cases they left an apology letter for their distraught victims.
Thieves who focus on farms in the Sunshine Coast hinterland have left apology notes and accuse an ice addiction of their actions
One note, seen through Nine news, the owners explained that the thief was an ice addict and & # 39; normally a decent person & # 39; used to be.
& # 39; I can only hope that you are (sic) insured & # 39 ;, they wrote.
& # 39; I honestly hate what I have become and what I do to innocent and hard-working people like you. & # 39;
Another note indicates that thieves may know their victims, because it starts: & # 39; I'm really sorry D and C. & # 39;
& # 39; I am addicted and need rehabilitation. & # 39;
The thieves are still on the run and are supposed to travel in a four-wheel drive with a trailer for stolen crates, and police say they might be armed with a stolen gun.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Queensland Police for comment.
