The 63-year-old broadcaster, who presented This Morning alongside his wife Ruth Langsford, has not held back from speaking his mind after working for ITV, following Schofield’s confession of an affair with a much younger colleague.
This Morning regulars Vanessa Feltz and Martin Lewis were the only stars of the ITV show in attendance on Tuesday.
Eamonn has been strongly condemning ITV’s ‘toxic’ environment and management, as the company has come under fire following the Phillip scandal, claiming it knows ‘the truth’.
The GB News presenter’s comments over the past month came under fire during a parliamentary hearing, at which MPs questioned ITV bosses Carolyn McCall and Kevin Lygo.
In a mockery of Eamonn, Mr Lygo claimed that the former presenters who were bashing the channel had not made any claims while on ITV.
And, he added, it was “not surprising” to hear such comments.
Since Schofield’s resignation, This Morning has been plagued by allegations of “toxicity”, including from the show’s former resident physician, Dr. Ranj Singh, who expressed concerns about “harassment and discrimination” and later felt he had been “excluded” for reporting irregularities.
The Radio and Television Industries Club hosted its annual awards with Judi Love and Rob Rinder as hosts and more than 1,000 guests in attendance.
