Although many stars, such as youngsters Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs De Ligt, have emerged from the astonishing run of Ajax to the Champions League semi-final, perhaps the most surprising Southampton flop is Dusan Tadic.
Picked up by the Dutch side for just £ 11 million last summer after being set aside by former Saints boss Mark Hughes, Tadic is a crucial figure in a beautiful domestic and European season.
The 30-year-old contribution currently stands at a staggering 34 goals and 21 assists in only 51 games.

This means that he has been involved in more than a third of the 160 goals of Ajax in all competitions.
After having played mainly on the grand piano in England, since he returned to the Netherlands – where he previously played to Groningen and FC Twente – coach Erik placed ten Hag Tadic in a false nine role.
Remarkably, Tadic has more goals in one campaign for Ajax than he knew in four seasons with Southampton – where he finished with 23 in 162 matches.
Tadic has led Ajax to the top of the Eredivisie, three points ahead of PSV after they had played a game more because they have been chasing a first title since 2014.
With 24 goals, he is the second-top scorer in the league – behind Newcastle-flop Luuk De Jong who has 27 hits for PSV – with a goal averaging 114 minutes.

However, it is in Europe that he has demonstrably had even more influence, while his party prepared for a semi-final of the Champions League against Tottenham.
In the 15 matches he has played since Ajax started his campaign in the second qualifying round, Tadic has netted nine times and scored another seven goals.
Six goals and four assists have entered 10 games since the group stage.
Most notably, Tadic assisted twice and scored once in a beautiful screen against Real Madrid in their 4-1 quarter-final second-leg triumph.
