A pilot has revealed the best place to sit on a plane to avoid turbulence – before passionately reassuring passengers that the flight is safe.

Joey Miuccio, based in St. Petersburg, Florida, used TikTok to suggest the best seats to choose for any travelers hoping to avoid a bumpy ride.

He used a ballpoint pen for his analogy before gently shaking it up and down to mimic the effects of turbulence.

Joey called attention to his movements and said confidently, “You definitely don’t want to sit in the back.”

In the clip, which has so far been viewed more than 1.6 million times, Joey attempted to answer the question: “Where is the best place to sit on the plane to avoid turbulence?”

He wasted no time in declaring, “I tell you what, you definitely don’t want to sit in the back.” The back is the worst place.

The expert pilot then referred to the “pen trick” before demonstrating it himself by bouncing it between his thumb and index finger.

He explained of an airplane: “Usually the center of gravity is a little bit forward, so it’s not as bad in the front and around the wings.

‘You can see that the the back of the plane is really shaken. The facade isn’t that bad.

Joey continued: “The whole plane bounces, but it’s even worse when you move away from the center of gravity.

“So (sit) more towards the wings – maybe a little in front of the wings. That’s my tip of the day. But don’t sit in the back.

But the great traveler was quick to share more wisdom by preparing: “That said, turbulence is not dangerous. I don’t know if there’s ever been an accident just from turbulence, so you’re safe.

“You are reliable people. It’s a little uncomfortable. Learn to enjoy it. Give up control.

“You have no control. You are just there as a seated passenger. Watch a movie. Hang out. Take a nap. Enjoy the ride.

“The turbulence will end soon. You will soon be on the ground. Anyway, no return.

Joey’s video was quickly flooded with likes and received thousands of mixed comments.

Many followers were grateful for the pilot’s advice, as one person wrote: “Good to know” and another added: “Okay, that’s helpful!! THANKS.’

A third person commented: “Thank you. I will now buy my places in the middle.

‘TRUE. I experienced the difference. But I still don’t like it,” someone else wrote.

One person commented: “I always choose the seat above the wings, as it is the most stable part. »

Another person wrote: “I’ll be in first class for this reason alone.” »

But some viewers were quick to comment on the financial aspect of choosing a seat.

One person wrote: “The front is business and first class, right? Lol.’

Another person added: “Cool, I’m too poor to sit in front.” »

Oddly, other commenters shared their apparent love of turbulence.

One person boldly wrote: “I love turbulence, so I sit in the back.” »

A second person commented: “Next time I’ll be sitting in the back.” I love the feeling of turbulence.

Another added: “I like turbulence. I’m too wary when it’s still because I have the impression that it’s going to stop suddenly.

One person wrote: “Call me crazy, but I love turbulence. It’s like a roller coaster.

A second person comically added, “The best place to avoid turbulence is on the ground,” and Joey replied, “Facts haha.” »

According to Valley International Airport in Harlingen, Texas: “One of the biggest factors in the amount of turbulence you are likely to experience is your seat position on the plane.

“To avoid feelings of turbulence, aim for seats in the center of the plane, above the wings or toward the front. These areas tend to be more stable.
