It’s official, James Gunn is real within the DC Universe thanks to The Flash.
It’s a movie that includes Michael Keaton’s Batman, Ben Affleck’s Batman, two Barry Allen characters, and a new Supergirl…but the most important addition has just been revealed: Gunn himself.
A fan noticed a new hidden surprise in a behind-the-scenes photo with director Andy Muschietti. What is this hidden surprise? A poster in Barry the Kid’s bedroom of the 2004 movie Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, which Gunn co-wrote.
The co-CEO of DC Studios responded to the remark on Twitter with the comment: Am I part of the world?
Of course, this also means that Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., Matthew Lillard, and Linda Cardellini are part of the DC universe, too. There’s even a former Batgirl on the cast for the Scooby Doo sequel, Alicia Silverstone. And that means she’s part of the DCU universe now, too.
As for James Gunn, he’s already proven to be a major part of the DCU offscreen since he took over as co-CEO of DC Films alongside Peter Safran.
It is noteworthy that fans are waiting for the release of The Flash in cinemas next week, as it will be released in the region on June 14 with its top-secret ending.
