In recent years, Big W, Kmart and Target have become favorite stores for those who want fashionable home decor items at an affordable price.

Which means that transforming your room before summer does not have to be expensive.

Recently, Today put these stores to the test, making more than one room in three ways, using a selection of items for each home.

The result? Not only were the rooms ready for summer, but the least expensive was a very affordable $ 243 total.

Starting with Kmart, today's presenter Jo Abi demonstrated how the pink bedding, the cushions, included the essential piece of the store: the knot pillow (at a price of $ 8) and a gray knitted throw made for a Very nice bed setting.

"When you go to Kmart, you can get everything you're looking for," Jo said on the show.

A touch of greenery was added to the space with a $ 10 palm print. According to a relaxed and welcoming theme, Jo included the jute rug that made a "beach feel".

Other features include a bedside table, a lamp and a bookcase.

The total cost of the Kmart package was $ 288.

Then, Jo, along with hosts Karl Stefanovic and Georgie Gardner, looked at a transformed room using home decor items from Big W.

The budget retailer items that captured Jo's eye included a duvet cover that featured a bright green leaf pattern and was also reversible.

He explained that the set could be used only to create a uniform look or mix for a new shot.

A low table at the end of the bed was added with a rug. To complete the look, Jo used side tables inspired by Scandi and golden colored lamps to attract fashion.

"Once again in Big W you can move from nowhere to this beautiful decorative set for your bedroom," said Jo.

And he revealed that the package was the most affordable, at a cost of only $ 243. This included new side tables, lamps, a rug and a set of bed with pillows.

Finally, the trio looked at a bedroom setup created using home decor elements by Target.

"Target has worked a lot on their ranges and they have these beautiful features for their bedroom," said Jo.

She opted for white patterned bedding with pink accents, including fluffy pillows, priced at $ 20 each, cushions with prints and a pink hue.

A gray tassel carpet added a bohemian touch of luxury, as did a gray ottoman.

Jo's advice for those who think about updating their interiors was not to buy only items from a store.

"I recently changed houses and I did not get everything from one place, I went to many different places and I built it from there," he said.
