A woman who grew up in the ultra-strict Mormon faith has shared some of the fascinating dating slang used by members of the church.
Former Mormon Alyssa Grenfell, 31, often shares her experiences living in the strict religion, which culminated in her leaving the church.
In a recent clip, Alyssa shared commonly used slang and what they mean in the Mormon community.
The first was ‘NCMO’, which means no-strings-attached make-out session.
“This is essentially the Mormon version of a booty call and it’s very common at BYU (Brigham Young University, a private Mormon university),” the mother of two explained.

He then moved on to ‘Levi lovin’, which the ex-Mormon explains is a ‘Mormon term that refers to dry humping.’
“These are basically the motions of having sex while clothed,” he explained.
Alyssa then listed an infamous term that non-Mormons may be familiar with: soaking.
When couples do not want to “sin” by having premarital sex, some practice an act called soaking, which refers to a man sexually penetrating a woman without pushing or moving.
“Though I swear this is just a Mormon myth,” the YouTube personality joked.
Another term used in Mormon communities was “Fill your canteen.”
As Alyssa explained, the term comes from when a church member serves a Mormon mission.
“They can’t have physical contact with the opposite sex, so they have to fill their canteen with as many NCMOs as possible,” he said.

After leaving the Mormon church in 2017 at age 25, she happily began implementing previously forbidden luxuries, like coffee (pictured), into her life.
Alyssa graduated from BYU Religious School with degrees in English and Teaching in 2016.
In another video, she described the ‘painful’ process of getting married in the Mormon church when she was 23 years old.
“(So) they have something to remember when they are lone missionaries,” he said cheekily.
The last term was “sweet spirit,” which Alyssa said is a “bad term” for a girl who is unattractive “but has a kind heart.”
“There’s a song about this in a Mormon movie and the best line is that she’ll only get married if we bring back polygamy,” he said.
She captioned the YouTube video: “You’ll never find an eternal companion if you’re just someone’s NCMO.”
Alyssa grew up within the confines of an ultra-strict home, but escaped the uptight lifestyle and began focusing on getting her body back after leaving the Mormon church with her husband in 2017.
Alyssa, who now lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and two children, He previously talked about what it was like to attend the strict religious university BYU.
The university is known for its campus culture and regulations, which are closely aligned with the teachings of the faith.
After renouncing religion at age 25, Alyssa proudly underwent a post-Mormon glow that included getting a nose ring and tattoos, as well as wearing a bikini for the first time at age 28.
In another video, she described the “painful” process of getting married in the Mormon church, with the church controlling every aspect of the wedding, including the choice of dress.
Since then he also published a book called How to Leave the Mormon Church: An Ex-Mormon Guide to Rebuilding After Religionthat recently found its way onto BYU library shelves, like she documented on TikTok.
