A husband, his wife and their five-year-old son were killed in a horrific car accident on a Tennessee interstate.
Santos Morales, his wife Magdalena, and their son Santos Enrique, who had just graduated from kindergarten, were returning from a trip to Louisville, Kentucky, when a wrong-way driver crashed their Subaru head-on.
Arely Cruz Morales, the family’s niece, said she cannot believe that three members of her family were taken away from her in an instant, according to W.M.C..
“On the day of the accident, they were returning to Memphis, but they did not have the opportunity to get home before the accident occurred,” Cruz Morales said.
He said his uncle had just started working in Louisville. The family was returning to Memphis to finish their move and obtain a new passport for their five-year-old son, Santos Enrique.

The family was driving back to Memphis to finish their move and get a new passport for their son, as the father had just started a new job in Louisville.
Cruz Morales said the family also planned to go on vacation over the summer.

‘It’s quite difficult to take it all in at once. Because he is not one person, there are three,’ said Cruz Morales.
‘We had more anguish when it came to his son. Because he was very young.
He added that his uncle was a family man and always put his wife and children before everything and maintained a positive and motivating attitude.
‘My uncle and his wife were always the ones who encouraged us, motivated us.
‘Our inspiration to move forward, to be the best person to move forward,’ said Cruz Morales.
He said that while his family tries to move on, they now face the challenge of taking the three bodies to Mexico for a burial ceremony.
“It makes some things complicated to bring them back home and send their bodies to get the proper burial where our family is,” Cruz Morales said.

The heartbroken niece said her family wants to remember her uncle, aunt and cousin as they were before they were tragically murdered.
“And despite how close we were to it, it’s a hole that no longer exists,” he said. “But we know that we have good memories, laughter, photographs and videos to always remember.”
Cruz said his family is in the process of quickly finalizing funeral arrangements due to the injuries his family members suffered in the accident.
