Lee arrived on course for par on the 18th hole after an opening round of 70 and five past 75
The No. 108 World Champion was three left for his third round as he made his way to the last par-four, leaving him a four-legged friend.
However, the Kiwi failed to hole-out five times from 1.2m as the determination to get the job turned into frustration and lackluster putts.
He hit his first putt so far past the hole that he faced an even longer putt coming back for bogey.
His second attempt failed to reach the hole, while his third putt then passed nearly two meters past the goal.

Lee’s next attempt stopped less than four feet from the cup, while his eighth shot went further past the goal in total than his previous attempts.
He eventually hollowed out from six feet seven – the longest putt of all – settling for a five-way bogey nine on the 18th hole.
His frustration didn’t stop there, however, as after the four-foot six-putt saw him close an eight-over-78, Lee was arrested while frustrated slapping his club against his bag before calling a wrist injury for his withdrawal from the tournament.
His third putt also went well past the goal and it took him another three tries

However, social media users rejoiced at Lee’s woes, with one saying, ‘Nothing better than seeing professionals act unprofessional. Thank you Danny Lee for this radiant moment. ‘
Another user also mocked Lee, adding, ‘Other than the professional golfer thing, there are no differences between me and Danny Lee,’ while another hinted at some sympathy by saying, ‘We’re all Danny Lee. Most of us just don’t have disposable putters or bags. ‘
Lee’s unforgettable finish saw him drop to 13 for a week, while his withdrawal meant only 61 players played in Sunday’s final round when Bryson DeChambeau claimed his first title.
