Traveling in style, this bear is driven around a Russian city by his human companion.

Toptyzhka, a Himalayan bear, rides a shotgun while Veronika Dichka, 24, drives him around the Siberian city of Novosibirsk and on trips to forests and fields, where the bear can climb trees and roam freely.

Dichka says she never uses a cage when traveling with Toptyzhka, who sits in the passenger seat as she drives.

“When traveling in the car, Toptyzhka behaves quite calmly, although sometimes he likes to play with the seat belt by taking it off,” she said.

“He’s an inquisitive bear and the main thing he was interested in was the steering wheel. He also had a great time turning the lights on and off with his nose,” said Dichka, adding that Toptyzkha “always has a positive attitude towards car trips due to his inquisitive nature.”

The bear’s owner, Maya Kirsanova, said she needed help, and Dichka said she’s spent almost every day with the huge beast since then.

Dichka has a bear herself, which she rescued from a safari park in 2019.

“I’m often asked if I’m afraid of bears, but I’d say I feel safe with Toptyzhka,” she said.
