The chip shop worker who went viral on TikTok has now teamed up with a popular makeup brand for a new launch, as part of an unexpected collaboration.
Destiny Harold, 20, became an internet celebrity after videos of her working at Merchants Fish and Chip shop, in Bewdley, in the Wyre Forest District of Worcestershire, went viral on TikTok last month.
The glamorous employee, who has worked there since she was 16, conquered social media with her sketches filmed from the point of view of a customer, also played by a member of staff, who asks for something.
However, the hilariously simple clips have prompted cosmetics company Rimmel London to contact Destiny to collaborate with her to promote their new Oh My Gloss. Lip oil.
The nursing student is now the face of the campaign and will be seen wearing the product on a digital billboard which will circulate around the Bewdley area.
The global brand even recently appeared in a TikTok on the chip shop’s account.
During the day, Destiny works at a hospital for her university stay; at night, at Merchant’s Fish and Chips, and this week she’s been working on photo shoots and starring on billboards for Rimmel.
She said: ‘This partnership is a dream come true! “I’m obsessed with Rimmel and so grateful to be able to work with them and see our little chip shop celebrated alongside such an iconic brand.”

Mimicking the short skits that catapulted Destiny to online stardom, the chip shop shared a TikTok that included product placement of some Rimmel lip oil as part of the collaboration.

Others praised the “genius” marketing strategy for Rimmel’s latest product launch, with one person writing: “I’m beyond obsessed with this ad, this page and these two lovely people.”
Merchants Fish and Chips owner Antony Akathiotis compared the beauty brand to the store’s ‘Mini Haddock Meal’, describing them both as a ‘true icon’.
He said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Rimmel London, a true icon, just like our Mini Haddock Meal.”

Destiny’s Rimmel campaign arrived shortly after one of her chip shop clips racked up a staggering 24 million views, as users gushed about the “iconic” and “beautiful” Merchants staff member.
Many TikTokers commented on how the interaction between Destiny and the fake client seemed like a scenario that a foreign language student might have to listen to and translate for an exam.

Lucia Blayke, from London, did a funny imitation of interacting with the chip shop in a clip that garnered more than 100,000 views.
Jack Cooper, from Sydney, Australia, also took to his TikTok account to impersonate the viral chip shop video.
Meanwhile, Jules took to her @jdtickerz account to share her own interpretation of the chip shop interaction.
Meanwhile, others commented on how “polite” both people in the clip were, including the “customer”, who is presumably another member of staff.
The scene begins with them ordering fish and chips while filming the interaction with Destiny, who was behind the counter.
Then he asked: ‘What size do you want? We’re making haddock, would you like to try it?
The customer confirmed that he would like to try the haddock and ordered curry and a Sprite to go with it, ending each sentence with “please”.
At the end of the interaction, the staff member said, “Have a nice day.” And the client responded: ‘Cheer up too, goodbye.’
Despite the mundane interaction, the clip gained a lot of attention and people rushed to the comments to leave their thoughts.
One person said: “This looked like English learning material for beginners.”
Another added: “It seems like a scenario where a French student would have to listen and translate for their exam.”
Someone else said: ‘thank you, it helped me improve my English.’ “I now feel ready to order fish and chips in the UK.”
Shop owner Antony reflected in an interview with a local newspaper about how the video turned his chippy into an internet sensation. The ferry.
