Fighting game fans are preparing to launch Mortal Kombat 1, the new part of the beloved bloody series, as many players believe that it is a remake of the first part, but the director of the series denied this belief and confirmed that the next part is Rebot.
Team conducted PCGamesN An interview with Ed Boone, director and creator of the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 game, to talk about what to expect from the game. Boon said that the game will not continue the story of the previous installment of MK11 because the characters in it are placed within a different time interval from the previous installments.
Here we understand from his words that the next part is not a remake, by presenting the same story with graphically improved characters and making cosmetic modifications to the gameplay. Rather, it will be a complete reimagining of Riot, in which a new, different story is presented, in which there are few stories from the previous parts, as a matter of linking with completely new characters and a gameplay that was developed from scratch. Here are the highlights from Ed Boone:
“It’s not a continuation of the Mortal Kombat 11 story, so the characters have very different roles in this new timeline and we really wanted to emphasize that with our title. This is Mortal Kombat 1, it’s a whole new beginning, you’ll see these characters reintroduced with new roles, new relationships, and that’s the main catalyst for it.”
The director continued his speech, pointing out the main reason for calling the game number 1 instead of 12, for example, due to the fact that it indicates the beginning of a new era in the series with different directions. It’s like the Marvel series when it announces different stages for its films, just as it did with the Spiderman movie when it presented its story through more than one movie, more than one era, and more than one part and actor.
We recall that MK1 will be released on current-generation devices only and computers on the nineteenth of September this year.
