The battle to defend Swordsmith Village in Demon Slayer has now begun, and it seems that our heroes are waiting for a bloodier and more brutal battle than we can imagine.
Before starting to read the report, we note the presence of (burning) some of the events of Episode 3 and Episode 4 of the series.
Unbeatable, Hantengu begins his assault on the village by sneaking in. Although Moichiro Tokito had defeated him earlier, all that happened instead was that he regenerated into different demons, which split into four more demons. There are only Tokito, Tanjirou, Nezuko, and Genya left to defend the village, meaning that the group will really be pushed to the limit by this fierce battle. While they don’t know yet about Gyoko of the Upper Five, who is also lurking outside the village.
A bloody battle awaits the Demon Slayer fighters
The bulk of Episode 4 is devoted to fighting all these demons, and with all these lurking around, events will not be in favor of the heroes. Genya is hit by a spear, and Tanjirou is dragged away by the tengo-like demon, when he tries to plead with Nezuko to save Genya. Tokito is flung away by one of the powerful Satanists on a mountain where he is far from the battlefield and there is a lot of distance to traverse before he can join the battle with his friends.
As the fight continued, Tanjiro was knocked down from above and brutally ripped apart by the demon’s claws. Whereas, Nezuko was the strongest as she dealt a great deal of damage to the demons, but the price was very high. Her throat was punctured and electrocuted by demons, and her right arm was cut off.
Whereas, Genya manages to land a few shots with his own gun, but his weapon seems ineffective against these superpowers, especially with their ability to regenerate. Add to this the appearance of Gyuko’s henchmen in the city, causing the alarm level to be raised and every man capable of fighting is thrown into the streets.
Although the Demon Slayers are giving their all in this bloody battle, things are already looking rather dark, especially with Tokito walking out of the fight after being flung away. Fortunately, with the warning sounded, the villagers were at least aware of the attack, and the warning also provided a way to attract the attention of Mitsuri Kanroji, who had recently left as he turned around to return to Swordsmith Village and help.
The battle is still in its infancy, but it already ranks among the bloodiest battles in the Demon Slayer series. Almost everyone has had some really big injuries. Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya will have to hold out until Hashira can return, or they will lose the entire village as well as the Demon Slayer Corps.
