The body of a 34-year-old man who had been beheaded and dismembered was found by his sister on Tuesday in a luxury apartment complex in the Lower East Side.
The alarm went off after the man’s sibling worried after not hearing from him for a day.
She went to the seventh floor unit to give her brother a “welfare check,” but got a horrifying look.
Her brother’s body was sawed through and sorted into several plastic bags with a nearby electric saw still plugged in.
Police believe the suspect was caught on security cameras on film when he entered the building and used the elevator.

Police found that the victim’s legs had been removed below the knees and their arms, with the missing body parts tucked into pockets.
Surprisingly, there was very little blood. The New York Times said some effort had been made to clear up evidence.
Sources told it New York Post that it seemed that the murder was a target.
The victim was last seen on Monday afternoon as he walked into the elevator of his building.

Sources told The Post that he seemed surprised when the pair drove to the seventh-floor apartment together.
But as soon as he entered his house, the attack started.
The victim has not yet been named, but is believed to be a technical entrepreneur.
Police are now trying to find out if the arrival of the victim’s sister interrupted the breakup of the man’s body.
Detectives are also looking to see if the killer could escape through another exit.

Police were later seen in the lobby of the apartment at 265 East Houston Street, where they were seen with a tearful woman believed to be the sister who found the body.
