According to Seattle authorities, the deaths of two female graduate students in Thailand have been classified as murder-suicide.
Kornkamol Leenavarat, 25, and her close friend Thiti-orn Chotchuangsap, 32, were found dead in their apartment at the University of Washington on Tuesday morning.
Leenavarat died of multiple stab wounds in a homicide carried out by the older woman, who died of a self-inflicted knife wound on her chest. Both died on Saturday.

They were discovered by the manager of the department building on Tuesday at 9.30 a.m. M. When they were conducting a well-being check on the girls after their family raised the alarm, Leenavarat photographed the center with the family weeks before she was found dead
The youngest woman had flown to the United States two weeks ago to study law, The Bangkok Post reported.
Police found their bodies in an apartment in the University District of Seattle after responding to a call from a building administrator at 9:30 a.m., whom Leenavarat's family had asked him to review.
The authorities said there are no pending suspects.
Leenavarat was a member of a political family in Thanyaburi, in the province of Pathum Thani northeast of Bangkok.
She was the daughter of the former deputy mayor and niece of the current mayor.
The president of the University of Washington, Ana Mari Cauce, said in a statement posted online Thursday that both women were studying for a master's degree in law.
"This is a heartbreaking loss for their families, friends and our entire community." I offer my condolences on behalf of our University to all who are afflicted as a result of this tragedy, "he said.
Leenavarat's family said that their ultimate goal was to become a judge some day.
There is little information about Chotchuangsap. Leenavarat, pictured left and right with his brother, was studying a master's degree in law. They were both graduate students at the university. Leevnavarat left Thailand to go to Seattle on August 21. Chotchuangsap left Thailand on August 27.
She has a bachelor's degree from Thammasat University and a master's degree from Thammasat University and then a master's degree from a school in Boston, Massachusetts.
There is little information about his friend Chotchuangsap who is from Samut Sakhon. Online, she appears as the director of Pornsiri Power Limitess Partnership, a company that deals with food products based in her hometown.
Leenavarat left Thailand for Seattle on August 21, after returning there to spend time with his family for Mother's Day. Chotchuangsap left Thailand on August 27.
Leenavarat's brother lamented his loss on Facebook by saying "our little sister who was always vivacious, friendly and courageous". with photos of her family sending her to Savarnabhumi airport.
The family is making preparations to bring their body to Thailand.
