Lynette Dawson disappeared on January 9, 1982, leaving behind her two daughters and her husband Chris.

Shanelle, who was only four years old at the time, broke the silence about the disappearance of her mother in the Bayview neighborhood of Northern Beaches.

The disappearance of Lynette Dawson has gained an incredible amount of attention as the subject of the podcast The Teacher & # 39; s Pet.

Mrs. Dawson made plans to meet her mother in Northbridge Baths, where her Mr. Dawson worked casually as a lifesaver. He said he left her at a bus stop in Mona Vale around 7 a.m. M.

She never showed up and Shanelle's father had told her and her sister that Mrs. Dawson had left them to join a religious organization.

Two days later, her schoolgirl lover, Joanne Curtis, moved into the house and Shanelle and her sister Sherryn learned that she was their "real mom".

Initially, Chris Dawson was not suspected of the disappearance of his wife, but in recent times he has become a person of interest.

However, the Director of the Public Ministry has always said that there is not enough evidence to go to trial.

The two met when Mr. Dawson became a Physical Education teacher at Cromer High in 1979 and she was in Year 10.

Mr. Dawson and Mrs. Curtis were married at Gilwinga Drive on January 15, 1984 with Paul, Chris's twin brother, and his wife Marilyn Dawson as witnesses.

It was almost as if her mother had never existed, she was never mentioned by Mr. Dawson or Mrs. Curtis and all her photos of the house were noted.

Shanelle told 60 Minutes: "I remember looking through the front door hoping she would come back."

She said she tries not to wallow in self-pity, but it gets hard on days like Mother's Day.

Shanelle said she understands people's anger when it comes to not knowing what happened to their mother.

Shanelle, who is now a mother, said: "However, there is still that part of me that really loves my father and feels protective of him."

The 40-year-old man said that Dawson was a good father and said there was a side of him that was almost like a puppy.

There was an interval of six weeks between the disappearance of Mrs. Dawson and Mr. Dawson informing that it was missing.

He denies having anything to do with the disappearance of his wife and has maintained his innocence.

Chris Dawson (pictured), now 70, has always maintained his innocence and said it has nothing to do with the disappearance of his wife and the alleged murder.

However, Shanelle said the police allegedly have new evidence.

She told the program: Who knows what that is, but I'm curious to know.

"It does not look good for my father, I must admit it."

Shanelle said her last conversation with her father involved him looking her in the eye and saying he never hurt his first wife.

However, she is determined to honor her mother's memory and pay tribute to her.

Shanelle's sister, Sherryn, has always maintained her father's innocence.

Earlier this year he told The Gold Coast Bulletin: "It's a witch hunt for my father."

"My father is being persecuted because there are all these people who have him for him.
