If you hope your team can taste success this year, it would be best to ask Sabrina Carpenter to please not wear your jersey. Otherwise, you might be left with Slim Pickins, unless, of course, this is just a big coincidence.
Just as Drake’s gambling habits have led to the demise of many sports teams, Carpenter’s recent decision to wear sports jerseys has inadvertently cursed those very teams he is honoring.
Recently, Carpenter has been working late (because he’s a singer), touring the United States and Canada on his ‘Short n Sweet Tour’.
But, as pointed out Shawn Depazproducer of the hockey podcast ‘What Chaos!’, Carpenter’s recent attire has spelled doom for the teams he represents.
The latest example comes after a pair of teams suffered notable losses on Wednesday night.

The Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball needed a victory against the New York Mets to stay alive in the postseason.
Unfortunately for them, they lost that game and were eliminated from the playoffs.
That same night, the Toronto Maple Leafs opened their NHL season on the road against their hated rivals: the Montreal Canadiens.
Despite taking 47 shots, the Leafs were eliminated in a 1-0 loss.
What do these two teams have in common? Sabrina Carpenter.
The ‘Espresso’ singer wore a custom Maple Leafs jersey when she performed at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on September 25.
When he stopped to do a local show in Philadelphia on October 8, he wore another custom jersey, supporting his hometown Phillies, and the baseball team lost that same night to fall 2-1 in the series before finally being removed.
After Carpenter wore a Phillies jersey in October, the team was eliminated from the playoffs.
He also wore a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey and the team lost on opening night.
But it’s not just North American sports that have felt the wrath of Carpenter’s locker room.
Over the summer, Carpenter wore an England kit during the Summertime Ball festival at Wembley Stadium on June 16, the same day the Three Lions beat Serbia in their first Euro group stage match.
But England lost in the final of the tournament by a heartbreaking 2-1 against Spain.
Need more convincing? During that same summer, Carpenter was seen with a friend wearing a then-unreleased Manchester United shirt, which would later be revealed to be his goalkeeper kit.
While Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has done decently this season, the Red Devils have not.
Although England won the day Carpenter wore the Three Lions jersey, they ultimately lost the European Championship.
Carpenter also wore this Manchester United goalkeeper kit, prior to his 14th place finish.
Carpenter has had success: her album went platinum while she was on tour.
Currently, under manager Erik ten Hag, United sit 14th in the international break, the worst start to a Premier League campaign in the club’s history.
Fans of teams in the remaining 22 cities Carpenter stops in on the North American leg of her tour can expect her not to wear their jerseys.
Stops include major cities such as Chicago, Houston, Denver, Vancouver, Seattle, Phoenix and Los Angeles, as well as college towns such as Raleigh, North Carolina and Charlottesville, Virginia.
Carpenter’s 2024 album release, ‘Short n Sweet,’ has been No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for four weeks and is the pop star’s first Platinum-certified album.
