The “cruel” King Charles costume with plastic ears goes on sale weeks before the coronation
The ‘cruel’ King Charles costume goes on sale online weeks before the coronation – and some royal fans aren’t impressed by the addition of plastic ears.
The costume – on sale on Amazon UK for £32.95 – includes a long, red, white and black cape, crown and controversial pair of plastic ears.
But the costume didn’t sit well with some royal fans, who accused the brand of “bullying” by selling fancy dress outfits – which received a one-star rating.
One customer, from South West London, added that the ears were “terribly hard and unnecessary”. They said, “Bullying is unacceptable on any level.”
The outfit was spotted on sale just weeks before the king’s coronation, which will take place in Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6.

Leaked plans indicated that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis would take part in the coronation procession – while other royals would not appear.
The Prince of Wales’ children are expected to join their parents in a carriage behind Charles and Camilla, who will be at the Gold State Coach, according to rehearsal documents seen by The Times.
Harry and Meghan have not officially indicated whether they will attend the coronation. However, the staff makes plans so that if they do, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet can join in the festivities.
As the date drew nearer, those on social media had a mixed reaction to the appearance of the King Charles costume.

While some were less impressed, others mocked the royal family.
“It’s time we all stop bullying the royal family,” said one man on social media. “And they returned to their worship as good, obedient subjects are supposed to be.”
Another said, “I think it’s pretty accurate.”
A third person joked, “Let’s ‘listen to the new king’.”
However, some users defended the king, with one saying: “It’s definitely not Charles’ ears.”

This comes after the rehearsal plans for the coronation of the king seemed to confirm who will participate in this important day.
Leaked plans allegedly show that the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children will step out of Westminster Abbey on May 6.
They will be joined by the Princess Royal and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Lawrence, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra.
Prince Andrew, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Harry and Meghan are not expected to be involved.
There’s little chance the Sussexes’ kids will be part of the same ceremony given their age – Archie will be four on the same big day and Lilibet will be one.
