- A warning has been issued to operators trying to sort the system
The Morrison government has saved $ 3 billion in brutally targeting childcare providers, and has warned others trying to break the system they will catch.
“We are taking tough action against dodgy childcare operators who drop off hard-working Aussie families,” Education Minister Dan Tehan said in a statement on Saturday.
“Providers who rap the childcare system, drop off families and taxpayers are caught and can be prosecuted”

Mr. Tehan said that since its introduction two years ago, more than 380 services have been included in the childcare enforcement register – listing services that are subject to a sanction or immediate suspension.
He said that in the three months to July 2019, eight services were added to the enforcement register and six were canceled.
“The Morrison government does not apologize for taking a hard line against shonky operators and the criminal elements that focus on childcare,” the minister said.
“The majority of providers do the right thing and our powerful action is to protect their reputation and the good reputation of the industry.”
