A wedding celebration in Mexico was spoiled by tragedy Saturday night when the ballroom ceiling collapsed and injured 20 people.
Nearly 70 guests gathered for the festivities at the Crown Paradise Club in Puerto Vallarta, a seaside resort on the Pacific coast, when a row of panels plummeted over the upper interior of the room.
Mexican outlet Quadratín reported that the wedding guests were dancing when the paneling crashed and trapped several people before they were brought to safety.

A woman complained to local reporters about the lack of response from the luxury hotel management while her two daughter lay side by side.
The concerned parent, who identified herself as a lawyer, said that one of her daughter had no sense of her right side and that her other daughter had sustained a leg injury that had left an open cut.

A Crown Paradise Club spokesperson told DailyMail.com on Monday that the staff members on site activated all their protocols and that those who had the opportunity to provide first aid helped the injured.
The hotel representative also confirmed that 10 of the injured guests were taken to local hospitals by paramedics and released shortly thereafter, except for two people who remained in the hospital and were discharged on Monday morning.

The spokesperson also said that the luxury hotel chain took care of all medical costs.
A full refund was processed for both the wounded and the bride and groom.
City inspectors would visit the hotel on Monday afternoon to continue the investigation into the cause of the 26 meter long rock collapsing.
