The cast for the first Knives Out sequel seems to be getting pretty cool

Netflix acquired the rights to two at the end of March Knives out sequels in a blockbuster deal reportedly worth more than $ 400 million, and the cast for the first sequel is quickly starting to get as epic as the one for the original movie.

We got the first inkling about the new cast on Monday, when Deadline reported that Dave Bautista joined the cast of the film. (He talked about his role with Polygon’s Tasha Robinson in an interview published TuesdayThen, on Tuesday, Deadline had another scoop and reported that Ed Norton has also signed up. And on Wednesdays The Hollywood Reporter said the musician and actress Janelle Monáe joins the cast.

They all appear alongside Daniel Craig, who will reprise his delightful role as Detective Benoit Blanc in both sequels. Director Rian Johnson will also be in charge of the two new films again.

I’ve seen the original Knives out last year for the first time, and I absolutely loved it. Much of my enjoyment of the film was because of the ensemble’s fantastic cast, including Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, LaKeith Stanfield, and Christopher Plummer.

Plot details for the new movies haven’t been revealed yet, but given the A-list talent already converging for the first sequel, I suspect Johnson has something good in the works. Production of the film will start this summer in Greece, according to Deadline.
