Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Migani said that the government agreed to start working in summer time and advance the clock by sixty minutes on the night of Wednesday, March 29, 2023, reversing his decision that sparked unrest across the country by extending winter time.

Migani said the new decision was taken after “quiet discussion”.

Mikati sparked widespread anger when he decided on Thursday to delay the start of daylight savings time until April 20.

Daylight saving time was scheduled to begin in the last weekend of March.
