A British woman who worked at Disney World in Florida has been accused of dressing like a stripper after wearing skimpy shorts to work.

Jessie Lee, 21, from Louth in Lincolnshire, had been working at Disney World resorts in Florida over the summer as part of their cultural exchange programme.

But after sharing a video of her red Disney outfit on TikTok, Jessie says her outfit divided opinion, with some calling it “inappropriate” while others said she was “giving dads something to look at.”

Jessie, a recent graduate, defended them as “very hip” and says haters are simply “uneducated.”

The images show Jessie sporting a red crop top with a pair of gingham bloomers posing around the park in various locations.

The graduate of Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln said she wore her assigned Disney uniform during shifts, but on her days off she created her own themed outfits to wear at the theme parks.

While Jessie admits that most users loved her ‘Snow White’ themed costume, others even went so far as to claim that Jessie looked like she was dressed like a ‘stripper’.

After the backlash, Jessie is now speaking out because she believes her “lightweight” outfit was appropriate to wear and that “uneducated” critics simply don’t know what people wear at theme parks.

He also noted that it was 90 degrees hot and that he had seen other people sporting similar clothing while working at Disney during the summer.

Jessie said: “I was at Disney World all summer, from June to August, while I was working there.

‘I was working on Disney’s cultural exchange program and filming vlogs every day.

‘I wore this outfit on my day off when we had free access to the park.

‘Because I worked there, I saw hundreds of people every day and saw what they were wearing in the parks, so I felt like it fitted in well with what everyone was wearing.

‘I used Disney Mickey ears and wore them with every outfit. (With this outfit) I wore Snow White ones, so I wanted to create a red-themed outfit around these.

“She was wearing a tight red crop top with a high neck and a small pair of gingham bloomers.

‘It was a very light outfit, as most days it was around 30 degrees.

‘I ordered these shorts because I’ve seen other Disney influencers wearing them (in the park).

“No one said anything to me in the park that day. I walked into the park twice in that suit and walked into different parks and not a single staff member batted an eye.

“I was going to shops and attractions and no one said anything about it or thought anything appropriate about it.

‘Since I got home from working at Disney, I have continued posting videos of my trip. This video (of me in the outfit) was right in my drafts folder.

“At first the reaction was that everyone loved the outfit, but then I started getting some comments saying my outfit wasn’t appropriate. I was in disbelief.

‘I would say that these people are not very educated about what people wear in the parks.

“I think most of the people who agree with me are people who have potentially been to Disney or are potentially younger and know that this outfit is not revealing.”

Cast Members have the discretion to enforce the dress code and may refuse entry or remove guests wearing inappropriate clothing.

Despite the backlash Jessie received for her Disney outfit, she says that hasn’t deterred her from posting her daily looks online.

Jessie said: “It was an outfit where there was a cropped high-neck top, but crop tops are very in fashion these days and everyone wears them.”

‘It wasn’t like I was in a formal setting. I was just having fun. Nobody thinks twice before wearing a crop top.

‘The shorts were short, but not revealing and as short as most people wear in the Florida heat. I have only received positive comments on my videos.

‘I just like to share what I wear every day, so I was surprised (to receive these comments).

‘Someone just commented saying I acted like a stripper. Some people just like to be negative.

‘Many of the comments are very positive. One person asked me if my shorts were an adult diaper, which I thought was really funny.

“I find it funny because I know where people are coming from, but these shorts were very trendy this summer, so maybe they just didn’t get the vision.”

‘For me, this was a very fashionable outfit, so this comment made me laugh.

‘This has not deterred me from posting online. It made me wonder if my clothing was inappropriate, but now I know the answer is no.

‘If anything, I want to post more to show what people wear in the parks and if it’s acceptable.

‘Wear what you want at your own discretion and you have to be comfortable, but you’re there to have fun.

“You’re going for walks so you have to be sensible, but it’s up to your own discretion.”

After posting a video of her wearing her ‘Snow White’ themed outfit, TikTok received over 60,000 views and 1,200 likes.

While most of the comments on Jessie’s clothing were positive, some users considered her style of clothing to be unacceptable to wear at Disney.

One user said: “Inappropriate for Disney.”

Another added: “There’s literally nothing wrong with this outfit, it’s cute.” “I’m a cast member and I’ve seen much more revealing (outfits) than this.”

A third commented: ‘That was inappropriate. You went to a family park with kids and acted like a stripper in that video.

A fourth said: ‘Lovely outfit. Lovely fit.’

A fifth said: ‘Is that a nappy?’

Another added: “It’s not inappropriate, it gives dads something to look at.”
