A bride-to-be has been criticised and branded “delusional” for asking her bridesmaids to spend thousands of dollars to be part of her “wedding of the century”.
The bride had grand visions of the perfect Instagram-worthy wedding and had no qualms about being the star of her own fairytale or asking her friends (and sponsors) to help pay for it.
The non-negotiable demands, which were posted on Reddit, called on bridesmaids to “up” their game in the run-up to the “Luxe Boho Glam” nuptials, with preparations beginning many months in advance.
“Welcome to the beginning of my wedding journey, I’m thrilled to have you all by my side, but let’s be clear, this is my day and everything needs to be perfect,” the bride said.
‘I know what I want and I won’t settle for anything less. Get ready to follow my lead and make this the most fabulous day ever – this isn’t just a wedding, it’s basically the Met Gala.’
The bride also added that when her wedding announcement “blew up” online, she had gotten some “amazing deals from brands to cover a lot of the things we need.”
“So guess what? You’ll all be part of sponsored content, yes, that means you’ll be helping me with some fabulous collaborations with other brands.”

Then there was a weekend of fancy dress fittings where “no one was allowed to miss.” The bride told everyone they would spend about $700 on champagne breakfasts, hotel rooms and travel.
The bridesmaids’ beauty routines were also outlined, and each of them was asked to shell out $1,200 for one of the sponsors’ luxury beauty boxes.
The “Barbie safari”-themed engagement party followed, followed by a spa weekend with rooms costing $500 each (the bride was happy to cover only the cost of the limo).
The packed and expensive itinerary continued with the girls then travelling to Ibiza for their “first hen party”.
“The mother-in-law is in charge and will be sending out Venmo requests soon so they can work out a budget,” the bride said.

An additional $400 fee was paid for each bridesmaid to have her hair styled by a celebrity hairstylist who would be flown in for the big day, with an additional optional $1,200 fee if anyone wanted extensions.
Bridesmaids were also expected to buy the bride a gift she felt she deserved for all her hard planning, and to throw her the “perfect” bachelorette party.
“It has to be elegant, chic and totally Instagrammable – think designer decorations and gourmet catering, make sure it’s perfect, it’s your responsibility to manage it and make it amazing,” she said.
There was one last trip for final dress fittings and then a reminder to set aside another $1000 for the wedding weekend, which promised to be amazing.
People criticised the bride for her “entitled and narcissistic” behaviour and one said the list should be titled “how to lose friends on one page”.
They considered the financial demands on the bridesmaids to be outrageous, especially when the bride already had several luxury brand sponsors.
“She expects the best from others,” one woman said.
Others couldn’t believe that bridesmaids had to pay for sponsors’ products themselves and also help promote them.
“She explicitly told them she was going to get special deals, but apparently she’s keeping it to herself,” another woman said.
Some people said the cost was one thing, but the amount of time bridesmaids were expected to set aside to plan each week in the months leading up to the big day was “horrible.”
“As soon as I read that there was a weekly one-hour check-in meeting, I would have left. I don’t do that nonsense for my current job, let alone for this impending bankruptcy,” said one woman.
While everyone was shocked by the bride’s demands, one woman said she had to admire her for going after what she wanted.
“I wish I had his courage.”
