The Brentwood home of the late actress, Angela Lansbury, sold by her family for $4.9M.

Just 11 days after it first hit the market, the late actress Angela Lansbury’s home of more than four decades sold.

Lansbury died in her sleep at the age of 96 in October at the Brentwood home where she had lived for more than 40 years.

The home sold for $4.9 million, with the deal closing on Tuesday, according to TMZwith the actress earning $400,000 more than the initial list of $4.5 million.

Lansbury and her husband, Peter Shaw — whom she married in 1949 until his death in 2003 at the age of 84 — bought the home in 1985 for $925,000.

Said the actress’s daughter, Deidre, 69 Wall Street Journal Earlier this month, she said, “It’s time to move on,” adding that her mom had wanted to sell the house.

The 3,708-square-foot home has four bedrooms and four bathrooms, resting on approximately 1 1/2 acres.

Other amenities include a swimming pool, a skylit formal dining room featuring a portrait of the actress, and a terracotta-tiled fireplace.

The English style cottage also features French doors, a large patio area and terraced garden with greenhouse.

Lansbury’s daughter Deirdre said the property was the “ideal” home for her mother who was “not interested in material things” and led a modest lifestyle.

“Neither she nor my father came of the money,” she said, “and they valued everything they had.” A lot of the big stars these days, they forget. But they never did Wall Street Journal.

Born in London to an Irish actress and British politician, the Irish-British star moved to New York City in his teens to avoid German bombing of World War II.

She landed her first movie role at just 19 years old – 1944’s Gaslight – and continued to work regularly with MGM.

While she continued to act regularly in the 1950s and 1960s, her critically acclaimed performance in 1962’s The Manchurian Candidate helped land her larger roles.

She continued to work in film but also found success in musical theatre, winning her first Tony Award in 1966 for Mamie.

While she was still starring in films like Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971) and Death on the Nile (1978), she continued to rack up Tony Awards on stage as well.

She won four more Tony Awards for 1969’s Dear World, 1975’s Gypsy, 1979’s Sweeney Todd, and 2009’s Blithe Spirit.

Lansbury became an international star in the 1980s when she starred in the hit TV series Murder She Wrote.

The show follows her character Jessica Fletcher – a professional writer and amateur detective – who uses her skills to solve murders.

The hit series ran for 12 seasons from 1984 to 1996, and among them, she also voiced the iconic Mrs. Potts in 1991’s Beauty and the Beast.

She’ll return to play Jessica Fletcher in several of the Murder She Wrote TV movies, and most recently had a cameo as herself in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
