Heather, a three-year-old mother, was reported missing from her home in Placerville on July 16, the day after she was released from the hospital with a broken collarbone.

After the authorities revealed that the remains of Heather had been found, her mother Joanna Russel said that the family had long been afraid that this would be how the extensive search would end.
& # 39; We are super sad about what happened and I don't know if it will ever be okay, & # 39; Russel said, 51 Fox40. & # 39; I miss my daughter. & # 39;
The three children of Heather, a 14-year-old daughter and sons of four and 13 years, have been cared for by family members since their mother disappeared.
& # 39; My daughter was one of the most dedicated, loyal people I have ever known, & # 39; Russel said. & # 39; I'm going to mourn for a long time. It's like & # 39; the world's worst nightmare. & # 39;

Anthony applied for a restraining order against Heatheron on July 23, a week after she was reported missing. In the petition (photo), Anthony claimed that the couple had a brutal fight the day they disappeared
Anthony, a carpet fitter, told DailyMailTV last month that he & # 39; every day & # 39; was looking for his wife, but the organizers of the official search group of Heather Gumina said he was not involved.
He had been the subject of an ongoing domestic violence case, which would be tried this month after allegedly headbutted against Heather during a vicious fight in February.
He was accused of trying to prevent her from calling the police. A blood test after his arrest showed that he had been under the influence of meth and opiates at that time.
In the request for a restraining order filed on July 23, Anthony described the fight that he and Heather allegedly had for her mother on the day she disappeared.
He said Heather & # 39; slapped me in the face (…) tried to hit a wheelbarrow full of sand on my legs & # 39 ;.
Anthony, who married Heather on March 18, admitted to DailyMailTV exclusively and admitted that his marriage was shattered, but denied damaging her and said he prayed she would be found.
The 44-year-old, who is currently serving a probationary period of five years after being convicted for burglary and intimidation of witnesses in February 2017, claimed that the incident with the headlines & # 39; a misunderstanding & # 39; was, but also said that she had called the police deliberately trying to send him back to prison.
Anthony said: & # 39; I just want her to show up and be fine and everything to be fine. I have done nothing (with her). I married her because I love her.
He added: & # 39; Look, this marriage is not going to work, but I would never do anything like that (harm her). I'm a lover. I'm not that kind of person.
& # 39; The sheriffs (delegates) were doing a 30 & a half hour investigation here. They took my car. They walked over every piece of land, so I always clean up and I am dealing with my wife. I do not deserve this. & # 39;
Kathy Schneider, 55, a good friend of Heather said: & We don't hear much from him. We don't hear from him. He does not help with the search efforts and he is not in our search group. & # 39;

Holly Smith (photo) described Heather as a & # 39; great mom & # 39; and & # 39; quite popular & # 39 ;. She said the mother of Heather & # 39; destroyed & # 39; was left behind by the disappearance of her daughter
Heather & # 39; s face was plastered in Placerville in the weeks following her disappearance
Holly Smith, 52, of Placerville, California, told DailyMailTV that the mother of Heather & # 39; destroyed & # 39; was left behind by the disappearance of her daughter.
She said: & she really misses her. If Heather was available to call home, she would call home. She speaks with her mother several times a day.
& # 39; Heather is a strong girl and if she would pick up the phone, she would pick up the phone. & # 39;
Heather & # 39; s mother was too sad to talk to DailyMailTV, but made a statement through a friend describing the mother of three as & # 39; the best daughter anyone could ask for & # 39 ;.
She added: & I miss her beautiful smile and her attentiveness towards me and her children. She always did something nice for all her children, family and friends.
& # 39; She was a hard worker and really beautiful inside and out. Her friends called me daily for updates. Life without her is so unimaginable. & # 39;
Other friends described the mother of three as popular and committed to her children, but admitted that in the past she had had problems with substance abuse.
Court reports show that she had several convictions for burglary and DUI, but the 33-year-old had begun to turn her life around – proudly posting a letter confirming that she had completed her probation on Facebook last August.

In a letter from a child psychologist who was submitted to the court as part of the domestic violence case and seen by DailyMailTV, it is noted that she was a committed mother to her youngest son, Ryder, four.
Smith said: & # 39; She is a wonderful mother, she is committed to her children. She is quite popular and has many friends. Her mother misses her a lot. & # 39;
Although Gumina insisted that he desperately wanted his six-month-old wife to be found, he also told DailyMailTV that she had persistent addiction problems and & # 39; both dark and feminine side & # 39; had.
He said: & # 39; My wife had some problems, you know. I'm not sure what she has ever done – she has had countless marriages and similar situations …
& # 39; She has some of her own addiction problems that she has been dealing with for a long time.
& # 39; I was a little used to being a bit unaware of it with my wife. I told her, no matter what happens in your life, I want to know, I want to understand.
& # 39; She has her dark side and then she has her wife's side. I probably shouldn't say much more out of respect for her. & # 39;
Like Heather, Anthony also has a series of previous convictions, including failures in 2002 and 2003 for meth possession.
In June 2016, he and his father John were arrested and turned out to have six guns, one of which was stolen, several high-capacity magazines and an amount of meth in his possession.
The following February, he was sentenced to five years' probation after he was convicted for possession of drugs, burglary and intimidation of witnesses.
Judicial documents show that his probationary period is currently suspended pending his trial against domestic violence.
He is also facing a second offense hearing after a urine test showed meth and opiates in his system.
