The body of a missing two-year-old boy has been found inside a crocodile’s mouth after his mother was found stabbed to death in her apartment.
Petersburg, Florida, was reported missing Thursday after his mother, Passion Jeffrey, 20, was found dead in her Lincoln Shores apartment of stab wounds.
On Friday evening, Tylen was found dead inside an alligator’s mouth in Dale Holmes Park – about 10 miles from his mother’s home. Officers confirmed it was the young child after he killed the animal. It is the coroner who determines the cause of his death.
“We didn’t want him to be found that way, but at least we can bring some closure to this family now,” said Police Chief Anthony Holloway. “We’re sorry it had to end this way.”
Tylen’s father, Thomas Moseley, 21, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Family members saw the mother and her son on Wednesday at around 5:30 pm and requested a welfare check the next day after they could not contact her. An employee found her dead and described the crime scene as ‘very violent’.
The police declared him a “person of interest” after locating him in hopes of finding Tylen, who was not in custody at the time.
Thomas had been admitted to the hospital and was said to have injuries to his arms and hands, according to his affidavit NBC News. The police chief said that as of Friday he was still in hospital.
Thomas did not speak to the investigators. The father does not speak to us, said Holloway.
Family members saw the mother and her son on Wednesday at around 5:30 pm and requested a welfare check the next day after they could not contact her.
Neighbors said they heard a loud noise near the apartment around 8:30 that evening, but the police were not called. Soon after the commotion in the apartment, Thomas appears at his mother’s house covered in cuts.

The next morning, Passion’s mother calls the apartment manager for a well-being check after her daughter misses her daily FaceTime call and is found dead by a staff member. Holloway described the crime scene as “extremely violent”.
The apartment door was locked when the employee arrived.
Passion, who worked at CVS, and Tylen recently moved into the apartment, according to WGXA.
