The Block host Scott Cam has come out against two contestants who left the show after just two days.

Influencer Elle Ferguson and her footy star fiancé Joel Patfull exited the renovation competition 48 hours after filming.

“We had a 48-hour challenge to choose the house you get and they were broken after 48 hours. It’s something that’s never happened before,” Scott said TV tonight during his performance at a Logies brunch on Monday.

45,000 people signed up to be on The Block and win life-changing money. These guys kept going and just couldn’t keep up with the pace after 48 hours.

‘Which to me is a bit unAustralian! Try it! It’s p**s bad,’ the 59-year-old added.

According to The Daily Telegraphthe couple made the difficult decision to leave after Joel’s mother Trish broke her neck during a fall at her Adelaide home.

The publication reported that she may have broken her coccyx and fractured her wrist.

After their departure, Elle, 36, shared a telling photo of the couple’s suitcases at Melbourne Airport, captioning it: ‘Wherever you are in the world, whatever you’re doing, family always comes first.’

She also shared a black and white photo of her partner Joel, 37, sitting with their luggage as they prepared for a flight to Adelaide.

A Channel Nine spokesperson confirmed the pair’s departure to Daily Mail Australia, saying: ‘Over the weekend we were surprised to find one of our new entrant teams leaving The Block a few days before filming for the upcoming season.

The pair were spotted on the first day of filming at the show’s construction site in Gisborne, in the Macedon Ranges.

Joel retired from AFL in 2016 after making 220 appearances for the Brisbane Lions and GWS Giants.
