The Block’s Jasmin Neuwen has shared major chemotherapy news following her recent cancer diagnosis.
Jasmin, 40, who appeared on the 2020 season of The Block with her husband Luke, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer after undergoing her first mammogram.
In October, Jasmin underwent a six-hour surgery to remove both breasts, just weeks after publicly sharing the heartbreaking news of her diagnosis.
Taking to Instagram this week, Jasmin revealed that she will not need to undergo chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
Posting a video detailing her recent fight against cancer supported by her husband Luke and children Lola and Sonny, Jasmin shared the exciting news with her 33,000 followers.
“So last week my medical team got the full results of my pathology and they met… they came to the conclusion that I DO NOT NEED CHEMOTHERAPY or RADIATION,” Jasmin began the lengthy post.
“I’ve been in shock for a week as I process this big but… unexpected news.”
The Block’s Jasmin Neuwen has shared major chemotherapy news following her recent shock cancer diagnosis.
He added that his pathology indicated that his tumor was smaller as initially thought and was not present in his lymph nodes.
“All of this, combined with the fact that I had a double mastectomy, means less active treatment after my surgery,” she said.
“I will still have to start taking the hormone blocking medication after my next appointment with the oncologist.”

Jasmin continued, revealing that she would also be undergoing genetic testing, adding that she was interested in a specific test done in the US.
‘I’m also going to have some genetic tests done and I’m going to ask my oncologist if he can do the Oncotype DX test. This is a test made in the US,’ he said.
‘My tumor tissue is sent there for extensive testing. This test basically returns a recurrence score, which is basically a statistical score of your return.’
Jasmin added that she would defer to her oncologist’s opinion on the test and said she wanted to have as many tools as possible at her disposal.

“For me, it’s like a second opinion because my stance has been to do everything I can now to make sure this bastard doesn’t come back,” he said.
Jasmin admitted she had yet to “get over her fear of a repeat occurrence”, which “terrified” her, and said her recent news had improved her outlook.
“It has been a physically and emotionally exhausting couple of months. But, honestly, I feel that from here everything is going forward and upward,” he said.

In October, Jasmin documented the process leading up to her mastectomy procedure at the hospital with the support of Luke, Lola and Sonny.
In a series of Instagram posts, Luke explained that Jasmin was having a double mastectomy and a hernia removed in a six-hour operation.
“She came in very excited and I continue to be blown away by how strong this woman is,” he gushed.
‘We just want to say from the bottom of our hearts how much all your kind words and messages of strength mean to us. We cannot respond to all of them without knowing that they have been heard.”
“Jasmin is now two hours into a double mastectomy (and a small hernia while the tools are being removed),” he added.
Luke then filmed Jasmin coming out of surgery and posted pictures of her still smiling as she recovered in her hospital bed.
‘I can’t take a bad photo of this woman! “He’s doing great and has already eaten half a block of chocolate,” she wrote in a caption.
