A section of the citybound lanes on the Frankston Freeway in Melbourne has been closed due to a fatal collision.
A truck is believed to have collided with a pedestrian on the Frankston Freeway near Seaford Road around 5.30am.
A still unidentified man died at the scene.
The truck driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with investigations.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are under investigation.
The freeway was closed between Seaford Road and Mornington Peninsula Freeway, causing increasing delays during the morning rush hour.
Drivers are advised to take the Seaford Road exit and use Frankston-Dandenong Road and Peninsula Link to avoid the closed section.
The southbound lanes of the highway heading toward Frankston are still open.
Motorists should allow extra time.
