A section of the citybound lanes on the Frankston Freeway in Melbourne has been closed due to a fatal collision.

A truck is believed to have collided with a pedestrian on the Frankston Freeway near Seaford Road around 5.30am.

A still unidentified man died at the scene.

The truck driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with investigations.
