The Block’s Courtney and Grant reveal their unique game strategy after winning last week

The Block’s Courtney and Grant won the room reveal competition on Sunday when their stylish bathroom impressed the judges.

And now the pair have spoken out about the unique strategy that helped them seal victory and score a whopping 28 points.

Grant admitted they were tough competitors and said the couple tried to avoid being influenced by other Blockheads.

“We said going in that if we start looking over the fence and wondering if ours is better than theirs or whatever, then we’ll just get caught up in the moment and lose track of what we have to do during that week,” said the 30-year-old landscaper. Yahoo Lifestyle on Mondays.

Courtney, 32, also said she had noticed how in past seasons of The Block the teams influenced each other, giving rise to a “mixed” style.

“Although I think it’s very important to keep it all very cohesive,” he said.

The pair have finished runners-up for two weeks in a row and said the win proved their so-called “Moderterrean” style was “on the right track”.

Admitting that they coined the style themselves – as a combination of “modern” design and Mediterranean influences – the bathroom wowed judges on Sunday.

The design included microcement, travertine and colored stone.

This comes after host Scott Cam singled out Courtney and Grant as some of the hardest workers on the current season.

“It’s one of those things where you have to be full time and give 120 percent,” he said in a Video from nine.com.au.

Scott was also impressed with Kristian and Mimi.

However, as far as which house is likely to win, Scott said that’s something he can’t predict.

“I can’t really comment on which house will have the greatest acceptance among the public,” he said.

‘The concept of our show is that we have no control over the auction or our grand finale.

‘We arrive on the day of the event and hope for the best, but it is the general public that decides the winner.’

The Block is reportedly set to lose one of its crew in the coming weeks as the reality show threatens to tear an unhappy couple apart.

Team Blue’s Jesse Maguire and Paige Beechey have now been confirmed as the pair who will be putting down their paddles in week five and leaving the site for good.

A close source recently revealed that the engaged couple, who are the youngest team this season, will be leaving the show to save their relationship, Yahoo Lifestyle reported.

“Jesse and Paige asked themselves a real question: Is the possibility of making money worth risking their relationship?” a source told the publication.

‘Channel Nine gave them the go-ahead to leave the show after some heated exchanges on their hot mics.

“It was a very difficult decision, but both Jesse and Paige believe Australia will accept their decision in a positive way.”

The Insider went on to say that the fights between Jesse, 29, and Paige, 27, became “pretty toxic” towards the end and tested the boundaries of their relationship.

Series co-creator and producer Julian Cress also confirmed earlier this month that one couple will choose to leave the show, but are set to return later in the season.

While other cast and crew members are said to believe the Perth couple made “the right decision” in quitting, there are concerns that viewers will find their exit “polarising”.

However, the source also revealed that since leaving The Block, the engaged couple seems happier than ever and “getting along famously.”

The lovebirds are set to tie the knot later this year and even celebrated Jesse’s 30th birthday with a getaway to Europe with their friends.

Daily Mail Australia previously reported in April that Jesse and Paige will be replaced at the venue by sisters from New South Wales.

Maddy and Charlotte are said to have been given just 24 hours’ notice to accept The Block’s offer and finish the construction that Jesse and Paige started.
