Britain’s baby boomers are prioritizing travel over spending money on their grandchildren.

The investigation, carried out by YouGov on behalf of Cooperativefound that nearly a third of the country’s over-55s choose travel as the most valued way to spend their money.

It revealed that more than a tenth (13 per cent) choose to spend on their children, and only a fifth (18 per cent) do so on their grandchildren.

Almost a quarter (24 per cent) of UK over-55s said they never buy travel insurance when going on holiday, and almost a fifth (19 per cent) of those who cited their age (11 percent) or have pre-existing medical conditions.
