The Block’s Marty Fox revealed that he attempted to get permission to bid in the 2024 auction after being impressed by one team in particular.
Marty has been judging the 2024 renewal competition alongside Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer, and has hinted at which team could be crowned the winner.
He admitted that he tried to get permission from Channel Nine to bid at the auction, scheduled for Saturday, but was rejected.
The judges do not submit any bids of their own, and veteran bidders such as Adrian Portelli and Danny Wallis are left with the final properties.
However, Marty said it was Courtney and Grant’s house that left him wanting to make his own offer this year after being blown away by the reveal of their master bedroom.
Revealing that Nine refused to submit an offer, Marty told him wellbeing.com.au: ‘So maybe I’ll have to twist some more arms!’
Despite seemingly backing Courtney and Grant, Marty insisted he hasn’t been able to get a feel for who might win the competition, unlike previous years.
“Every time I watch The Block, or I’ve been a judge last year, or an auctioneer the year before, you can have a very good idea of who’s going to win, whereas in this one, no one can choose.” who is going to win,” he added.

Anticipation has been building for this weekend’s auction, which will air on Nine on Sunday night, with the winning team yet to be revealed.
And the 2024 cast has seemingly gone all out to try and secure the winning title this week.
They were all seen trying to make friends with The Block bidder Adrian while attending the Melbourne Cup at Flemington Racecourse on Tuesday.
Footage shared on social media showed Adrian smiling and laughing with the contestants, before sharing a fun moment with controversial star Kylie Baker.
A source claimed that the entire cast saw Adrian’s favor as a “ticket” to winning the renewal contest and were eager to secure his attention.
“It was as if Channel Nine had told the entire cast that Adrian was a ticket to winning The Block,” said one Birdcage attendee.
‘The way everyone competed for Portelli’s attention was next level.

The 2024 cast have apparently been doing everything they can to secure the winning title, and this week they rubbed shoulders with bidder Adrian Portelli (pictured with Kylie Baker).
“It was fierce and this year’s contestants took the opportunity to ‘gossip’ as if it were a challenge set by Scotty Cam.”
“All the cast members were dripping on him and taking pictures,” another guest claimed.
“I would be too if I had the potential to make millions of dollars.”
Their meeting came just days before The Block auctions take place over the weekend, and one former contestant said it’s key to have Adrian on your side.
They stated: “Adrian claims he never even watched the show, but by the end it was obvious he knew who we all were and that he had favourites.”
“The work you can put into your ‘house’ means nothing unless you have a buyer like Adrian Portelli in your pocket.”
