Ronnie Wood was all smiles as he watched his son Tyrone marry his fiancée Faye, the daughter of Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris, in the rock n’ roll wedding of the summer.

The Rolling Stones icon’s family joined them on the steps of Marylebone’s Old Town Hall on Friday, showering the newlyweds with confetti – including his ex-wife Jo Wood, 69, daughter Leah, 45, and son Jesse, 47 – who was joined by his TV presenter wife Fearne Cotton, 42, twin daughters Grace and Alice, eight, and current wife Sally Humphreys, 46.

But there was one member of the Wood clan who was conspicuous by his absence: Jamie Wood (Ronnie’s stepson and Tyrone’s half-brother) who avoided the ceremony.

Jamie, 49, and Tyrone, 41, were once close friends as they grew up together under the same roof, regularly visited by celebrities.

But a family dispute over money drove a wedge between Ronnie and his stepson and former manager, whom the 77-year-old Stones guitarist took in when he was a year old after Jo split from her biological father, textile businessman Peter Greene, in 1976.

A source said: ‘Ronnie and Jamie have grown increasingly apart and it’s sad because he grew up alongside his half-brothers and sister.

“The fact that she wasn’t present at Tyrone’s wedding shows that the rift has never healed.”

Jamie and her stepsister Leah have a healthy relationship and their children get along well, according to the latter.

But her closeness to Tyrone has been hampered by her brother’s penchant for partying, something Jamie has now completely outgrown.

He says, “He likes to party and stay out all night and all that. He’s not for me. He’s not for me, ever.”

Jamie previously told how Ronnie and Jo’s split in 2011 after 24 years of marriage “destroyed” him and claimed the rocker showed “no loyalty” to him during the divorce proceedings.

Until then, Ronnie treated him like one of his own as he grew up in a unique environment, which saw him attend 17 schools in several countries while his rocker parents lived life to the fullest.

Jamie recalled seeing Hollywood stars like Michael J. Fox, John Belushi and Christopher Reeve hanging out at her house in the early hours of the morning while living in New York in the 1980s.

She also recalls that drugs were particularly prevalent, particularly Keith Richards’ joints in ashtrays that Jamie admitted to stealing when he was just 10 years old.

But Jamie, who now has three children, said his childhood wasn’t always pleasant and a big part of that was his relationship with Ronnie.

Jamie (grey sweats), who now has three children of his own, is not Ronnie's biological son but grew up with the musician, his mother Jo Wood and three siblings: Leah, Tyrone and Jesse.

She described what it was like growing up with her unusual family: “I was always second” to her father, who Jamie said “always came first” and was “God.”

Jamie added that Ronnie’s fame meant he had “no friends” as no parents allowed their children to visit the Woods home.

Speaking to MailOnline in 2020, Jamie says Ronnie spent most of his childhood “in the bathroom” as he mocked his parenting style.

Jamie said: “I lived with him since I was a year old. I’m surprised he remembers me, to be honest.”

He was probably thinking ‘Who is this 21-year-old kid?’ when I was growing up.

“He spent the first 12 years locked in the bathroom, partying, drinking. You can’t take care of children in those conditions. We never had a good relationship.

“Ronnie was the guy my mom was with. The guy that everything revolved around.”

Shortly before Ronnie and Jo’s split, sparked by the rocker’s infidelity after he was caught sneaking into the house with cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova in 2009, Jamie was managing his father’s business affairs after a property deal allegedly went wrong, forcing the Woods to remortgage their £5million home.

Jamie left his successful £9m-a-year events company to take charge of his parents’ financial affairs – a decision he now describes as “a bloody nightmare”.

Following his parents’ split, the lawyers handling the divorce wanted a “clean break” – and that included Jamie, who was fired from his manager position and Ronnie’s stepson claims he was never paid for his services.

Speaking to The Times in May 2023, Jamie says the fact that the lawyers turned on him and Jo “just destroyed me. Dad didn’t… There was no loyalty there. He was out, drunk.” Jamie tried to call him to intervene, “and he didn’t answer. So I just got on with it.”

Jamie now lives in Surrey with his wife Jodie and their three children.

His youngest son is the same age as Ronnie’s twin daughters he shares with wife Sally, but that hasn’t brought them any closer together.

Jamie said: “I don’t really know what he looks like now. I’ve barely seen him.”

His eldest son, Leo, is a promising boxer, but he has never invited Ronnie to one of his fights because “he would be worried that he would say no. That would cause more rejection.”

Jamie added: ‘Why would I want to expose my kids to that life, and they’re going to love you, and then you’re going to let them down?

“He did it to us, so he’s not going to change.”

Asked if he really thought that deep down Ronnie loved him as much as his biological children, Jamie said: “I knew he wasn’t his blood. And I would bring it up with him and say, ‘Do you still love me like you love the others?’ And he would say yes. He was lying. But, you know, he said yes.”

Jamie’s breakup with Ronnie coincided with the death of his biological father, with whom he never had a close relationship.

He learned he was dying during an unexpected phone call.

Jamie explains: “I didn’t believe him and then he died. So I lost two parents at the same time.”

And he never sought to sit down with Ronnie and have a heart-to-heart, simply because Jamie is “not sure where his heart is.”

And he adds: “It has to do with something, because he has a good heart. He has a good heart. He is a good man.”

“I guess he’s a loving man when you’re with him.”

Despite the feud, Jamie – who struggled with drugs as a teenager, then overdosed at age 21 and also battled a heart attack in 2017 to live a clean lifestyle – is still in awe of Ronnie’s musical talent and feels he is the most underappreciated member of the Stones.

He explains: “He has a lot of talent.”

‘He’s an amazing artist and can play any instrument.

‘He was the spare part, the Prince Harry of the band. It was always about Keith and Mick.’
