It's better than the Welcome Stranger nugget of the country, which was previously considered the largest discovered with a weight of just under 12.3.

The Airleg driller, Mr. Dole, was found with a second nugget that weighed around 9.4 stones with an estimated value of £ 1.5 million before discovering even more, reports Daily Star.

The miner, who has more than 16 years of experience, said he has not seen "anything like this" in his entire career.

"While I was drilling it, you could see the gold chips that came out of all the holes and I thought:" There's something here, "he said.

"And then, after we shot it and I came the next day and washed it all, it was everywhere."

He unearthed the "incredible" journey while working about 500 meters underground for RNC Minerals.

Diggers unearthed a lot of precious metals while working in Western Australia, including the world's heaviest gold nugget to date

The firm's chief executive, Mark Selby, said finding those huge nuggets was a "once-in-a-lifetime" moment.

Selby says the discovery shows that Beta Hunt could become "a very large gold mine."

Senior geologist Zaf Thanos said about the huge find: "You could spend your whole life and you will never see something like that."

Armed guards will be deployed to transport the nuggets to a vault and security has increased in the mine.
