I have always I loved Star Wars. I spent the first Christmas day I remember flying with Luke and his X-wing around the house. I met Darth Vader (David Prowse) when he was 6 years old. I can still feel the frisson of fear as he walked through the double doors, reaching above the crowd to shake my hand as my dad held me up. I never questioned why the Dark Lord of the Sith was in Woolworths.
When I became a dad, I had a new excuse to visit that galaxy far, far away and buy new toys. (I still regret selling mine at a garage sale to raise money for our first house.) My wife and I love the original movies, our kids prefer the prequel trilogy, but we all enjoy watching the latest shows together. As everyone knows I’m a fan, I’ve received (and given) many, many Star Wars gifts over the years. These are some of my favorites.
