Matty ‘J’ Johnson has revealed that sharing his parenting mistakes on social media actually makes him feel better.
The Bachelor stars tell nine honey that raising her two daughters, Marlie-Mae, five, and Lola, three, is an “endless list of failures”.
“There’s nothing that makes me feel more normal and not like a total failure than when I share a story of struggle as a father,” he said.
Maty gave examples such as: ‘trying to get rid of the pacifier, failed sleep routines, or my son hating me.’
“Other parents reach out to me, either on social media or in person, and say, ‘I’m going through the same problem! ’” he says, and it makes him feel better.
Matty and his wife Laura Byrne tied the knot on the South Coast in 2022 after meeting on The Bachelor.
Laura and Matty are one of the most successful couples to come out of the show, but the brunette beauty told the I’ve Got News For You podcast that it almost didn’t happen because she regretted it the day before filming began. which will begin in 2017.
“I completely changed my mind and didn’t go to the shoot,” he admitted.

“If you are selected, they give you a time and a place, and it is a secret time and place, to try to throw off the paparazzi,” he explained.
‘Mine was a pickup location in Alexandria at a random park at 3pm, and you’re supposed to show up with all your bags and a bus will come pick you up.
‘And I remember 3pm came and went and I was sitting at home and I hadn’t packed a suitcase. I just completely changed my mind. I didn’t really want to do it; I worried what it would be like to compete for a man’s attention on a reality TV show.
She then received a call from the producers giving her until 10am the next day to decide and had a dream that night that made her change her mind once again.

Since they met, Matty and Laura have become parents to two beautiful daughters.
They welcomed Marlie-Mae in 2019 and Lola in February 2021. The couple got engaged during a holiday in Fiji in April 2018.
The couple welcomed a new addition to their family in March.
The high-profile couple announced on Instagram that they adopted a kitten named Raspberry.
Laura shared the exciting news alongside a video of the couple’s daughters, Marlie-Mae and Lola Ellis, meeting their new pet.
‘They say sometimes you don’t choose your pet, it chooses you. And that’s how we felt when we found our little Raspberry amongst all the kitties at @sydneydogsandcatshome,’ she wrote.
‘At first Lola was very shy, she had never seen a kitten before and was too scared to hold them, but then she saw a fluffy little tabby cat.’
