A former Bachelorette star who recently came out as transgender has sparked controversy online after posting a video about using women’s bathrooms.
Josh Seiter, 37, was born a boy and appeared on season 11 of the hit show, competing with other men for the hand of the female contestant.
On Sunday, Seiter posted a video on Instagram of herself emerging from a women’s bathroom at a Walmart. In the clip, she’s wearing a low-cut red dress that reveals her thick chest hair and tattoos.
“I have to admit, the women’s room is much better than the men’s room,” she said, holding a piece of paper towel in her hands.
Josh Seiter, a former Bachelorette star who recently came out as transgender, sparked an online controversy after posting a video in which he bragged about using women’s bathrooms.
“Did you know they even have containers for feminine hygiene products?” she asked her nearly one million followers.
The short clip sparked outrage among viewers, with many outraged that Seiter was using the women’s bathroom.
“You shouldn’t be allowed to use the women’s bathroom. You’re a MAN,” one frustrated user commented on the video.
One viewer raged: “As a REAL woman, I do not support you at all! You should be in jail for using women’s bathrooms, locker rooms and other women’s facilities!”
The Chicago-based influencer appeared as a contestant on season 11 of The Bachelorette as a man, where he memorably stripped for Kaitlyn Bristow.
“I don’t care HOW you identify, if you have male genitalia you should NOT be using our bathroom,” wrote another person, adding: “I would be PISSED if my daughter was in that bathroom while you were using it!”
And one viewer simply commented: “It’s not appropriate for you to go into the ladies room AT ALL.”
Seiter came out as transgender in May 2024. She recently revealed that she is not receiving hormone therapy and is unsure whether she will undergo reassignment surgery.

After being eliminated, Seiter returned to working as a stripper and courted a string of high-profile girlfriends, including reality stars Yolanda Leak and Karine Staehle, both of whom appeared on 90 Day Fiancé, and then Love After Lockup’s Lizzie Kommes.
But behind the scenes, she was coming to terms with her sexuality: She eventually revealed she was bisexual and engaged to a fellow exotic dancer in June 2023.
When Seiter came out as transgender this year, he faced widespread criticism, especially for his decision to keep his thick beard.
In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, the influencer revealed that much of the backlash, paradoxically, is coming from liberal groups.
“Ironically, I’ve found that the far left and the LGBTQ community have been some of the most vitriolic and mean to me throughout all of this,” Seiter said.
But despite harsh criticism online, she has no plans to close her social media accounts.
“I always want to have a conversation,” she told DailyMail.com. “I think open debate, civil debate and dialogue are great.”
“We live in a democracy in the United States where there is freedom of speech and it’s OK to disagree with people,” Seiter added.
