Laura Byrne appears to have become an enemy of her neighbour after police officers kicked down the door to the elderly woman’s bedroom.
The former Bachelor star, 38, recounted the horrifying moment on her Life Uncut podcast on Monday, sharing a clip of it on TikTok.
In the video, the mother of two revealed she called a welfare check on her neighbor when she noticed food left outside her door for hours.
“I get home from work around 5pm and see (my neighbor’s) groceries at the door,” Laura explained.
She went on to say that she “mentioned it” to her husband Matty Johnson, who revealed that the package had been there “all day.”
Laura added: ‘I thought, ‘That makes me feel weird. ‘ Anyway, at eight o’clock, I poked my head out and the shopping was still there. So, I knocked on the door, she didn’t answer.
“I thought, ‘I feel really uncomfortable about this.’ It was ten o’clock and I was still standing at the door. I’d never been in a situation before where I had to call to ask for a welfare check.
“While I was on the phone, I heard sirens approaching. There was also a police rescue truck that had just arrived on the street.”

However, many Life Uncut listeners came to Laura’s defence, saying she did the right thing by looking after her elderly neighbour.
“As a healthcare worker who makes a living by monitoring the social situation, keep doing it! You could have saved someone’s life. You did the right thing,” commented one user on Instagram.
“If I were an older person living alone, I’d be relieved that someone noticed and cared enough to take matters into their own hands. You definitely did the right thing!” added another.
